It is one of the oldest examples of towers, that are conserved in the Modenese Mountain. It dates back to XIII cent. and was part of a medioeval castle. People had access by an high cambered sandstone portal, that was situated on the first floor, and was constitued by a tufa vault. The castle was enfeoffed from XV cent. to the powerful Rangoni family, who possessed the property until very recent times. It was given to Commune of Zocca, by the same marquis Rangoni, the tower has now been completely restored.
