We know very little about its ancient history and only few traces have been found of its castle. Its name gets from the term "Mocenum", "Mozenum" or "Moceno". Some historical evidence can be found on the knoll of Miceno, near the graveyard, where a column with a ionic capital and an iron cross indicating the church of S.Giovanni "from Monzeno" stands. Miceno was part of the imposing fort that guarded Pavullo "Castrum". The church of Miceno is placed in Fontanafredda, the most populated area, and was built in 1600. Some places worth visiting are: Rocchetta, a natural barrier preserving old buildings, C Luppo, Casa Messore and Casa Tebalde.
