The origin of this small hamlet is still obscure, in fact the historical records concerning Camatta are relatively recent: they date back to the end of the XIV century. In spite of this, we know that it was an important point of connection between the famous Montecuccolo, Monzone, Montecenere and Olina castles. Camatta's parish church, dedicated to S. Maria Assunta, most probably dates back to XV century. Camatta's territory includes also the sanctuary of Beata Vergine, located in a place called "Pratolino", a charming locality at Montecuccolo's foot, nearly 5 Km. from Pavullo.
